4 easy steps to create personal goals that work as a mum

We don’t take our personal goals as mum as seriously as we should. It’s heartbreaking when you think about it. We should stop thinking about it all the time and rather do something about it.

All you need to create your personal goals is yourself, your mind, your brain, your pen, and your paper. (Which some may not even need if your phone does the job) YOU alone.

You have it all.

Ask yourself what you want.

This is the first and critical step, we all want different things and that’s ok.

It’s also ok to remain content as you are. Although, if growth is part of your goals, you have to decide on what you want and love. There is no in-between, it’s either you want this or not.

Decide on your why.

Now we answered the first bit, it’s time to look inwards and ask yourself why you want this.

What is my driving force? See, your why needs to be strong enough to keep you going on the days you don’t feel like it.

You will get stressed about it sometimes and not look forward to continuing.

It’s alright, it happens and that is why you need a solid why.

Is my childhood dreams important to me?

Will this make me feel more fulfilled?

Will this give my life more meaning?

WHY do I want this?

Get in sync with your reality.

I still believe our current situation in life has so much to do with our decision to start our journey of growth in motherhood.

You want something and take steps to work towards it but then, realize your current life situation will not let that happen. At least not at the moment.

It’s ok, don’t sweat it

That’s life and it happens more than we like to admit. Here’s a bit of context;

A new mum with a 2weeks old newborn looking to get rid of the baby weight with a 5-mile run daily? First of all, you don’t need that pressure. It took a year to grow a whole human, give yourself grace.

Or paying to learn a skill when you’ve got so much on your plate already, you will end up overwhelmed. I’ve been there.

Ended up disliking the course creator so much!

It was not their fault, I take responsibility for my unreadiness.

All I’m saying is to know your reality and accept what you can work with at that moment. You don’t have to do everything at the same time.

You will get there with proper planning but for now, one step at a time. Hello…Remember?

Seek clarity.

Clarity on what you want makes things 100% easier. Truth is without clarity, it feels like you’re waddling through mud, trying to find a balance so you don’t fall in.

You are not sure of the next step because you can’t even see it, then the worst happens, you do fall and that breaks you.

You wonder if it’s ever going to happen and decide to hands off, it’s ok to feel like it from time to time.

And no you’re not lazy so there’s no point beating yourself about it rather you’ve got to seek clarity first.

This brings us to the next big question; How does one seek clarity?

I will speak about this in detail here. I know you want to keep on going, take a breather. We have this to talk about first.

Tell me the step you’re currently on and what is your stumbling block so far.
